If you look up the word ghost you will find the definition. "The soul of a dead person, a disembodied spirit imagined, usually as a vague, shadowy or evanescent form, as wandering among or haunting living persons." But many people openly refer to anything un-natural being "Ghostly or a Ghost" But this is not truth nor the terms we like to use it for other than that of the definition. Ghosts in our book are simply the soul of a person who once was alive which in all cases benevolent in nature and mostly the intelligent ones are willing to share the same space with the living weather they are acknowledged or not. Ghosts Do Not Hurt People nor do they Want To. In most intelligent GHOST haunts an attachment of some sort has been made maybe through love or simply family bonds. In some cases, its reverse like when family bonds weaken. Most ghosts may just want to be acknowledged by the living some make small noises like taps on the wall, footsteps even a touch once and a while. But nothing that will kill you. Poltergeist on the other hand can kill you. Please note if you are dealing with a poltergeist call a professional. Poltergeists are simply evil in nature they want to hurt you they want to scare you they have no remorse and they feed off of fear directly. Poltergeists can make loud noises, pick up objects and throw them, they can start fires and yes on occasion possess people. There are many Ghost and Poltergeist types out there but can usually be narrowed down to the two basic groups we use. Technically poltergeist means noisy ghost. You are the tool.
The greatest tool in this field is you. A good investigator uses common sense never jumping straight to paranormal as there first conclusion. Trying to find logical explanations first. Then trying to communicate. If you hear a popping every time your heater turns on its probably the heater.... But if you didn't know when the heater was coming on you may think its paranormal. Always search for the possible Who? What? When? Why? and where? first which is called debunking. We will teach you some good techniques for debunking later in another section. Now that you know about the basic types of paranormal activity and how to determine its nature than debunk it. You may have something if there's still no explanation. Try researching a little at the library or online see if you can find any past deaths or horrific incidents which may have taken place. If so and you still believe something may be with you. It's time to talk about some of the basic gear involved used to aid you in finding answers. Warning Going Beyond this point is subjecting yourself to possibly making things worse. Extreme caution is to be made when hunting the paranormal as you never know what is really out there until you experience it firsthand. We take no liability for what you do with this info. <-----------------------Click images for more info---------------------> Typicality if you're just starting out you can easily buy a simple Digital Voice Recorder and have an open session in hopes of catching E.V.P (Electronic Voice Phenomena). Since paranormal entities can only usually be heard in lower frequencies. Using a recorder allows you to record a question wait for response and play it back at a higher volume listening for distinct vocal sounds and words which could not be heard at your normal hearing level. When un-natural voices are heard on a recording device they are referred to as Electronic Voice Phenomena. When un-natural voices can be heard by the ear alone without a recording device its simply called Voice Phenomena or V.P. Another tool which is widely used in the field is the E.M.F detector. An E.M.F. detector is used as a device to measure Electromagnetic Fields. Many experts believe places with well-known cases of paranormal activity have larger levels of electromagnetic energy around. These fields can also be created naturally by improper wiring in homes open junction boxes and other places where natural electricity is being put off into the air simply by human error and bad grounds. People are also said to put out EMFs from there heart, and even just simple high voltage power areas like power lines. Some places are so bad its said if you are around these high levels long enough it can give you many symptoms. Including fatigue, headache, dizziness, feelings of paranoia, acute memory loss and even vomiting and hallucinations. Many people believe their being haunted when really there just being exposed to these high but natural fields. But on the other hand, entities are also believed to feed off of these same fields so in turn a place like that could be extremely haunted. These places are not hard to debunk but we will talk more about these things in an advanced section later. Finally, if you really want to try your luck Static night vision or Infrared cameras are priceless tools in this field allowing investigators to see the whole battlefield in a sense. Giving your eyes in the dark you can use these with a DVR to capture hours of video evidence in the dark looking for anything unnatural. Entities are said to be hiding in other spectrums of light having this tool allows you to see another yet unforeseeable spectrum through the eyes of a simple camera. |
